What your video host can and cannot pass to a CRM
A host records who pressed play and how far they got. What happens to that record next depends on the host, the CRM, and the connector between them — and on which of the three you already own.
Every video host records something. The question that decides whether video appears in your pipeline report is not whether the host measures — they all do — but whether what it measures can reach the system where your reps work.
Three things sit between a play button and a CRM record, and any one of them can be the reason a number never arrives.
The host decides what exists
A host knows the session: what was watched, for how long, and where the viewer stopped. That is the floor, and it needs nothing from you. Anyone can have it, and on its own it answers a marketing question — which asset holds attention — rather than a sales one.
What separates hosting tiers is identity. A host that can attach an email address to a session can tell you who watched. A host that cannot will only ever tell you how many, and no connector downstream can recover a name the host never captured. This is the single decision that determines whether video becomes a sales signal or stays a content metric, and it is made when the hosting plan is bought, months before anyone writes a script.
The CRM decides what can land
A record has to have somewhere to go. A CRM with sales seats can hold a view event against a contact and surface it to the rep who owns that contact. That is the level most teams can reach with what they already pay for.
Acting on it automatically — scoring the contact, enrolling them in a workflow, routing them — is a different tier of the CRM, not a different tier of video. HubSpot Marketing Hub Pro or Enterprise, Salesforce with Pardot, or Zoho CRM with Zoho Marketing Automation can do it. The same video, on the same host, into a CRM without those, cannot. Nothing about the production changes; the ceiling is in the stack.
The connector decides whether it arrives
Between the two sits the part nobody demonstrates: the events that fire, the thresholds that define them, the naming convention, the embed method, and the field each event lands in. Get any of those wrong and the integration reports success while the data goes somewhere nobody reads.
This is where we draw our own boundary. We write that specification — the host, the events, the thresholds, the field — and we verify the signal is landing, once, at handover. You configure your own CRM. We never hold admin credentials to a system that runs your revenue, and we would not accept them.
The one funnel where none of this applies
Hiring. Applicant-tracking systems do not carry video viewing to the candidate record, so there is no version of this chain that ends with "this candidate watched the film." The talent funnel is measured at the careers page and the application source instead, and we say so rather than implying a level the tooling cannot reach.
What to ask before you commission anything
Which host, and can it attach an identity. Which CRM, and does it have sales seats or automation. Who writes the event specification, and who verifies it is landing.
Answer those three and you know what your video will be able to prove before you spend anything making it. Answer none of them and you will get a number with no line in the pipeline report — which is the usual outcome, and the reason this page exists.
₹10,000. Credited against month one.
Forty-five minutes. We review your current video and web presence, name three gaps mapped to funnel stages, and show you live view data from your own audit video, hosted on our Vidyard, so you see the measurement working before you buy it. You leave with a three-video plan and a Starter quote against it.
