This states what we aim for, what is checked automatically on every build, and what is not checked at all. It is a statement of position, not a certificate: no third party has audited this site.

1) The target

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2 at level AA, and the equivalent requirements of EN 301 549, which is the European standard that incorporates WCAG and the one a European buyer's procurement process names.

Nobody has imposed this target on us. India's Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act 2016 and the Guidelines for Indian Government Websites place binding obligations on government websites rather than on a private company's. The European Accessibility Act has applied since 28 June 2025, and it reaches products and services offered to consumers in the EU — this is a business service sold to businesses in Kerala, so it sits outside that scope rather than inside it. In the United States, the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 508 reach places of public accommodation and federal procurement respectively, and neither reaches this site today.

We set the target anyway, and we publish what it costs us in Section 4, because a supplier that meets a standard only when compelled is telling you something about every other standard it claims.

A conformance report. If your procurement process needs a VPAT or an Accessibility Conformance Report, ask and we will complete one against WCAG 2.2 AA and EN 301 549, stating the known gaps in Section 4 rather than omitting them. It will be self-assessed, because no third party has audited this site, and it will say so on its face.

2) What the build measures

Each of these runs before anything ships, and each of them can fail a build:

  • Contrast. Every ink-and-ground pair in the design system is computed rather than eyeballed, and combinations that fall below the AA threshold are prohibited outright. The check exits non-zero if one appears.
  • Reflow. Every page is loaded at 390, 360 and 320 pixels wide and fails if it scrolls sideways, which is success criterion 1.4.10.
  • Target size. Interactive controls are held to a 24×24 pixel minimum, which is success criterion 2.5.8, new in WCAG 2.2.
  • Focus. Every focusable element carries a two-tone focus ring designed to stay visible on the page ground, on white, on a dark panel and on a dark-filled button. It is never removed.
  • An automated audit. Lighthouse's accessibility category is held at 95 or above on mobile, alongside the same bar for performance and best practices.

3) Motion

If your system asks for reduced motion, you get it. That preference is honoured globally in the stylesheet, and every piece of scripted motion checks it independently, because a global CSS rule does not reach animation driven by JavaScript.

Separately, nothing on this site depends on motion or on JavaScript to be read. With scripts blocked or broken, every page renders as the complete static page, and a watchdog reveals anything still hidden if the script has not reported ready within two and a half seconds. Nothing on this site may ever be the only thing standing between a reader and the content.

4) Known gaps

Stated because an automated pass is not the same thing as an accessible site:

  • No audit and no user testing. This site has not been reviewed by an accessibility specialist and has not been tested with people who use screen readers, switch devices or magnification. Automated checks find a minority of real barriers.
  • Third-party embeds. The HubSpot form used to request the Video Strategy Audit is another company's interface, on every page. We do not control its markup and cannot make it conform. If it blocks you, tell us and we will book the audit with you directly, by email or by telephone — the same route the cookie notice offers, and it reaches the same place. The video player is ours and is click-to-load, so it adds nothing to the page until you choose it.
  • Video. Captions and transcripts on embedded video are whatever the source provides. Where a video is ours and a caption is missing, ask and we will supply a transcript.
  • Documents. Proposals and reports we send are PDFs, and their accessibility is not covered by anything on this page. Ask for a document in another format and we will send one.

5) Reporting a barrier

If any part of this site stops you doing something, write to productions@lowlightking.com with “Accessibility” in the subject line and tell us the page and what happened. We acknowledge within 24 hours and aim to resolve within 30 days, the same commitment the grievance mechanism in the privacy notice makes. If the fix will take longer than that, we will tell you what we are doing instead in the meantime.
